Volunteering
As an undergraduate, being a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and other organizations, allowed me the pleasure to Volunteer for a variety of causes, bringing a sense of community outreach to my person.
Below are some of those!
The Military Heroes Campaign is Kappa Sigma’s International philanthropy and was designed to honor and aid thousands of wounded military veterans and their families. Created in 2007, the Military Heroes Campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated nearly $500,000 to non-profit organizations who advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.
Being a member of the Mu-Upsilon Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, we have partnered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, here in the Cedar Valley. Annually, our chapter volunteers at the JDRF Walk, and hosts a philanthropy event, "Dodging for a Diabetes | Dodging for a ΚurΣ", where all proceeds go towards JDRF, in hopes of one day finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
